NCSS Announces Anton Schulzki as New President

and Members of the Board of Directors

National Council for the Social Studies is pleased to announce that Anton Schulzki, social studies teacher at General William J. Palmer High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado, began a one-year term as President of the NCSS Board of Directors on July 1, 2021. NCSS Recommends New Standards

In June 2021, NCSS developed a statement that covers the purpose of creating strong social studies standards, the difference between standards and curriculum, and ways to prepare, develop, implement and support high-quality social studies standards. Learn more.

Asian-American Narratives

Social Studies and the Young Learner invites educators to share their ideas and experiences on teaching "Asian American Narratives in U.S. History and American Society." Submit a K-6 teaching activity, picture book review, memoir, or short essay before the October 15 deadline.

Call for 2021 House of Delegates Resolutions

NCSS is now accepting proposed resolutions for the 65th House of Delegates (HOD) Assembly. Resolutions are the vehicle through which NCSS members can bring issues before the HOD for debate and vote. Resolutions approved by the HOD are brought to the NCSS Board for approval and action. Learn more.
