NCSS is seeking members to serve on our Notable Social Studies Trade Books for Young People Book Committee. The book committee consists of 15 members who review, evaluate, and select social studies trade books for our annual bibliography "Notable Social Studies Trade Books for Young People." Democracy 2022 Youth Film Challenge
Civic Life Project is a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization whose mission is to empower and advance young adult civic engagement through the use of video storytelling, nurturing democracy for generations to come. Their Democracy 2022 Youth Film Challenge is a global film competition for students to generate civics-oriented videos that ultimately create a groundbreaking movement for young Americans to get engaged in our Democracy and to vote – to bring young people together as a community and provide a digital platform for them to be heard. Teaching for Equitable Democracy Fellow at CIRCLE
NCSS is a member of the Teaching For Democracy Alliance (TFDA), which is currently seeking a new fellow. This is a part-time position for someone with experience in K-12 civic education to work with TFDA members over the course of the next 10 months. There is a $1,300 monthly stipend for approximately 26-32 hours/month. Apply by March 25, 2022, here.
