    Debra Sanchez is SVP of Educational Media and Learning Experiences at CPB. She oversees children's and youth content investments, develops educational initiatives and works closely with producers and stations to meet public media’s education mission.     Save the Date for the 105th NCSS Annual Conference

    Start planning for next year's NCSS Annual Conference, which will take place December 5-7, 2025 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. The Call for Proposals will go out in December 2024. Watch this space for more information. 

    National History Day's 2025 Teacher of the Year Award

    History teachers are invited to complete this short form by Friday, January 3, 2025 to nominate themselves for consideration. Once the nomination period closes, affiliate-level nominees will be chosen to submit additional materials for consideration for the national award. In June 2025, one middle school and one high school teacher will each be presented with the 2025 NHD Teacher of the Year award and will each receive a $5,000 stipend.
