This July marks the 33rd Disability Pride Month, created when the Americans with Disabilities Acts (ADA) was passed in July 1990. The Disability Pride Flag, designed and updated by Ann Magill, is featured here. The colors represent: red (physical disabilities), yellow (cognitive/intellectual disabilities), green (sensory disabilities), blue (psychiatric disabilities), and white (invisible and undiagnosed disabilities). The black background represents those in the community who have lost their lives due to illness, negligence, suicide, and eugenics.
