NCSS is seeking members to serve on our Notable Social Studies Trade Books for Young People Book Committee. The book committee consists of 15 members who review, evaluate, and select social studies trade books for our annual bibliography, "Notable Social Studies Trade Books for Young People." Serve on The 1787 Prize Selection Committee
Reviewers will convene for a general orientation session to discuss the scoring criteria and rubric. Reviewers will be given approximately 4-5 weeks to score all assigned essays, and may be divided into scoring teams based on the number of essays received. Have your students applied for The 1787 Prize?
The 1787 Prize recognizes the best student essay on the subject of the U.S. Constitution’s past, present and future. Students in grades 11-12 are eligible to enter. One essay may be submitted with up to three student co-authors per high school. Two essays will be selected to receive $2,500. Essays are due on March 31, 2023. Learn about The 1787 Prize here.
