Board and Officer terms will begin on July 1, 2022. Also in July 2022, NCSS President-Elect Shannon Pugh, Director of Community and School Programming at Anne Arundel County Maryland Public Schools, will assume the office of President, and NCSS Vice-President Wesley Hedgepeth, Politics and History Teacher at Collegiate School in Henrico County, Virginia, will assume the office of NCSS President-Elect.
NCSS President Anton Schulzki said, "Congratulations to the newest members of the NCSS Board of Directors. Those who serve on the board represent social studies educators from across the country and in a variety of roles in their work. Thank you to all who participated in the election, especially those individuals who ran for office. I am excited to be able to work with our new members of the board."

NCSS will open nominations for candidates to serve as officers and board members in February 2022 for the election scheduled in November 2022. More information on the nominations process for the Board of Directors will be posted soon at www.socialstudies.org.
